Did you know our local food bank fed 750,000 people last year? This year, there continues to be an overwhelming need for support to help families struggling with hunger.

Blades of Green wants to do our part to assure that no one in our community goes hungry. In honor of Hunger Action Month, we are hosting a food drive that will support the Anne Arundel County Food Bank.

How You Can Help

From September 1 – 30, 2022, technicians will pick up non-perishable/canned food items during regularly scheduled service visits.

To become a hunger hero, simply follow these steps:

  1. Gather food before your scheduled service
  2. Clearly label your bag or box of donations with “Food Donation”
  3. Place your donation outside your home in an easy to find spot, the morning of your service
  4. Your friendly technician will collect the items during their property inspection and bring them back to the main office

Please note:

  • Technicians will be collecting donations for lawn and pest services only
  • The collection will not take place for the Fall Aeration and Seeding Service
  • If you find it more convenient to shop online or your home is not scheduled for service in September, you can make a donation directly from Anne Arundel County Food Bank’s Target Wish List or Amazon Wish List

What is Hunger Action Month?

Hunger Action Month was established by Feeding America back in 2008, when they decided it was time for a nationwide push to get involved with the hunger crisis across the country.
