As you know, great lawns don’t happen overnight and surely take a lot of TLC to keep them healthy and vibrant.

As your lawn care partner, we want to help your lawn thrive throughout the entire year. The summer season is super stressful on your lawn, so we want to remind you of the importance of keeping your grass at the proper height, watering your lawn, and aeration and overseeding.

Proper Grass Height

Want to give your lawn the best shot at warding off issues that stress grass out? Make sure you are mowing it at the proper height. Your blades should be 3.5 - 4 inches tall. This will encourage:

  • A deeper root system to grow
  • Prevent weed growth
  • Withstand drought stress

Watering Requirements

Proper watering ensures your lawn gets the hydration it needs. Here are three tips to help your lawn get the moisture it needs to thrive.

  • Water your lawn between 5 am - 10 am
  • Water two to three times a week, depending on the amount of rainfall
  • Your entire lawn needs at least an inch of water for ideal growth and health. This can be measured using the Tuna Can method

Aeration & Overseeding

By this time of year, your lawn has endured hot, humid days, battled lawn diseases, and has been drenched by summer storms.

If you have thin areas or bald spots on your lawn, discolored turf, or compacted soil, these are signs your lawn needs aeration and overseeding.
