Mole & Vole Exterminator

We understand that every infestation is unique and requires a tailored treatment approach to ensure elimination—that is why we always begin treatment with a detailed inspection of your property. Your mole or vole control program will then be customized to address the specific infestation your yard is facing and be performed by one of our experienced exterminators who will be able to answer all questions you may have.

Mole Control

Our mole control in the Maryland and Virginia area is a three-pronged approach that includes baits and traps to eradicate them from your lawn and garden, followed by maintenance visits to apply mole repellent treatments. Our mole exterminators begin by performing a thorough evaluation of the activity on your property. This allows us to identify the most effective use of baits and traps as well as positioning the treatment throughout your yard.

Our mole removal service may include:

  • Bait*: Moles eat earthworms; that’s why we use an earthworm-shaped bait to effectively target your infestation. We use weather-resistant bait to monitor and control their activity.
  • Traps: Traps can be used along with bait if you have a severe problem.
  • Repellents: 100% natural repellents will help keep the pests out of your yard while keeping it healthy for your kids and pets.
  • And more!

Vole Control

Voles pose a great threat to your lawn, trees, and shrubs, gnawing and burrowing at the root systems of ornamentals and eating the stems and blades of your precious lawn. Our professional vole treatment is personalized to the level and nature of the infestation on your property. After an inspection of your landscape, our certified technicians tailor our advanced removal methods to your property’s specific needs. We provide three visits in the first three weeks and ongoing maintenance thereafter to control your infestation.

Our vole removal service includes:

  • Initial inspection and installation of vole bait stations on the first visit.
  • Three bait treatments within three weeks after the initial call.
  • Ongoing maintenance every 30-60 days to ensure the problem does not return.
  • Service calls in between scheduled visits if problems persist.

Identifying Moles & Voles

Other than having similar sounding names and both causing havoc to yards, voles and moles have little in common. The biggest difference between moles and voles is the type of damage they cause.

Moles are insectivores, and get the vast majority of their dietary needs from earthworms. They’re gray to dark brown in color, about 6 to 7 inches long and most distinguishable by their long noses and paddled, webbed front feet – perfect for tunnel excavation.

Voles are rodents and belong to the same family as rats and mice. They are plant-eaters and feed on grass and perennial-flower roots, seeds and bulbs, and they will even girdle the bark off trees and shrubs. They vary in size from 3 to 5 inches from nose to tail and have stouter bodies and shorter tails than mice.

Signs Of Damage

Moles and voles can cause a lot of damage in a short time. Signs that you have moles or voles in your yard include:

  • Small tunnel entrances, runways and burrows in your yard
  • Raised ridged areas in lawns
  • Cone-shaped molehills – these are formed by the dirt a mole excavates as they dig deeper tunnels
  • Vole droppings and vegetation debris within surface runways
  • Small gnaw marks on bark and plants
  • Sickly trees
